AMD Investigating Breach Claims After Hacker Offers to Sell Data

Chip giant AMD has launched an investigation after the hacker IntelBroker claimed to be selling sensitive data allegedly belonging to the company on the BreachForums cybercrime forum. The data purportedly includes information on future AMD products, customer and employee databases, datasheets, source code, property files, firmware, and financial documents, with employee details such as names, job roles, phone numbers, and email addresses. AMD is working with law enforcement and a third-party hosting partner to verify the claims, suggesting the breach may have originated from a third-party provider. IntelBroker, known for exaggerating claims, recently attempted to sell data from other organizations like Acuity, Zscaler, and Europol.
