Android file manager apps infect thousands with Sharkbot malware

Users have been infected with the Sharkbot banking malware by a fresh batch of malicious Android apps that masquerade as secure file managers and breach the official Google Play app store.
In order to avoid detection when uploaded to Google Play, the malicious payload is not installed with the apps; instead, it is fetched later from a remote source. The request for risky rights to load the Sharkbot virus in the trojan programmes is less likely to draw attention because they are file managers.
