Attackers Can Use Electromagnetic Signals to Control Touchscreens Remotely

In a new study article, a group of researchers from Zhejiang University and Technical University of Darmstadt revealed that GhostTouch “uses electromagnetic interference (EMI) to inject bogus touch points into a touchscreen without the need to physically contact it.”
The basic idea is to use electromagnetic signals to execute simple touch events like taps and swipes into certain areas of the touchscreen in order to take over remote control and manipulate the underlying device. Read More…
