According to Veeam, businesses of all sizes are becoming more susceptible to ransomware attacks and are not sufficiently defending themselves. A ransomware assault will compromise nearly all (>80%) of the data in one in seven organisations, exposing a substantial safety gap.
The need of immutability and air gapping to ensuring backup repositories are safeguarded is highlighted by Veeam’s discovery that attackers target backups during cyberattacks almost always (93%+) and are successful in hindering their victims’ ability to recover in 75% of those instances.
