The prevalence of shadow IT teams, also referred to as rogue IT teams, has increased in recent years as cloud-based software and remote work have become more prevalent. But many firms now face operational conflict and security issues as a result of this.
According to Capterra, 58% of SMEs have encountered high-impact shadow IT initiatives that go outside the purview of their formal IT department. Shadow IT teams are most frequently created, according to half of SMBs, since staff members are unaware of how to obtain new technology.
