A new YouTube phishing scam has been discovered, so be on the lookout for it and disregard any emails from YouTube that purport to contain information regarding “Changes in YouTube rules and policies | Check the Description.” YouTube has shared information regarding a phishing scheme in which emails are sent from a legitimate YouTube account. The malicious email appears to have been sent directly from YouTube using the no-reply@youtube.com email address.
One of the biggest video-sharing websites in the world, YouTube, has become a target for phishing attacks thanks to its enormous user base. Through the platform’s Share Video by Email tool, which sends out phishing emails that appear genuine, scammers have discovered a new way to catch YouTubers off guard. Due to this tendency, YouTube has become aware and is advising users to exercise caution.
