Cisco snaps up AI model and data security startup Robust Intelligence

Cisco Systems Inc. is finalizing the acquisition of Robust Intelligence Inc., a startup specializing in AI model and data security, for an undisclosed amount. Robust Intelligence has developed a platform to safeguard AI models and their data throughout the development-to-production lifecycle. Cisco first invested in the startup via its Cisco Investments arm a couple of years ago. The acquisition aims to enhance Cisco’s security offerings by integrating Robust Intelligence’s capabilities into its existing products, providing improved visibility and protection against threats such as prompt injection attacks and data poisoning. This move reflects Cisco’s strategy to diversify its revenue streams and address the growing demand for robust security measures in the AI sector, especially as enterprises increasingly rely on AI for innovation and efficiency.
