The Chinese APT group Tropic Trooper, active since 2011, has shifted its focus to targeting government entities in the Middle East that publish human rights studies related to the Israel-Hamas conflict. This espionage campaign, discovered in June 2023 by Kaspersky, involves sophisticated malware such as the Crowdoor implant and various post-exploitation tools.
