Emotet Botnet's Latest Resurgence Spreads to Over 100,000 Computers

While Emotet has not yet regained its former prominence, the botnet has seen a substantial resurgence from November 2021, with roughly 130,000 unique bots dispersed across 179 countries.
The malware first appeared in November 2021, with TrickBot serving as a distribution mechanism. TrickBot shut down its assault infrastructure late last month after several important members of the group were absorbed into the Conti ransomware cartel.
