Fake Indian Banking Rewards Apps Targeting Android Users with Info stealing Malware

Customers of Indian banks are being targeted by an SMS-based phishing effort that uses malware that steals information while pretending to be a rewards programme. The bogus banking rewards app for ICICI Bank is downloaded when users click links in the messages that lead them to a dubious website, according to the Microsoft 365 Defender Research Team.
