Officials in Fort Worth, Texas, revealed that hackers broke into and gained access to a website containing government data but downplayed how serious the incident was. On Friday, the city’s government, which serves more than 935,000 people, was accused of losing roughly 500,000 files by a hacker outfit going by the moniker SiegedSec.
The organisation asserted that it stole administrator login information and copied 180GB of data in total, including work orders, employee lists, invoices, police reports, emails between employees and contractors, internal papers, camera video, and more.
