GoatRAT Android Banking Trojan Targets Mobile Automated Payment System

another banking app for Android As part of an expanding trend among threat actors to attack a new automated payment system in Latin America, a Trojan with the potential to send instantaneous illicit money transfers is now targeting Brazilian institutions. A further infection is then released by GoatRAT after first abusing the Accessibility Service on an Android device to check that the name of the active package matches one of a list of targeted application package names.
The Trojan does not appear to be designed to collect authentication codes or incoming SMS messages, unlike similar viruses, and instead appears to be designed just to make automatic transfers, according to the research.
