Google said on Wednesday that it is adding a new system for evaluating the quality of bug reports to the Android and Google Devices Vulnerability Reward Programme (VRP). The new quality ranking system, according to the internet behemoth, could prompt researchers to offer more information on the found security flaws and should also speed up their correction.
The quality of received vulnerability reports will be evaluated as “high,” “medium,” or “low” according to the new grading system, and bounty payouts will be given in accordance with those ratings. The internet giant announces that higher incentives of up to $15,000 are now available for the best and most severe flaws.
