In an effort to provide consumers more transparency and control over their data, Google is implementing a new data deletion policy for Android apps that permit account creation, requiring developers to give users the option to remove their accounts.
Bethel Otuteye, senior director of product management for Android App Safety, stated that developers will soon be required to offer a choice to initiate account and data deletion from within the app and online for apps that permit app account setup. The purpose of this web requirement, to which you will include a link in your Data safety form, is to allow users to request account and data erasure without needing to reinstall an app.
