High-Severity Memory Safety Bugs Patched With Latest Chrome 108 Update

The popular browser’s eight vulnerabilities, including five that were revealed by outside researchers, have been fixed by a Chrome upgrade that Google announced this week. Each of the five security weaknesses is a use-after-free flaw, a memory safety bug that has plagued Chrome for years and that Google has fought hard to eradicate.
Four of these problems, which have a major impact on Blink Media, Mojo IPC, Blink Frames, and Aura, according to Google’s alert, are high severity flaws. Along with the medium-severity use-after-free CVE-2022-4440 vulnerability, the vulnerabilities have been assigned the CVE identifiers CVE-2022-4436 to CVE-2022-4439.
