INFECTEDSLURS BOTNET TARGETS QNAP VIOSTOR NVR VULNERABILITY

InfectedSlurs, a Mirai-based botnet, has been observed to attack QNAP VioStor NVR (Network Video Recorder) devices.
A new Mirai-based DDoS botnet called InfectedSlurs was discovered by Akamai in November, and it was actively taking use of two zero-day vulnerabilities to infect routers and network video recorders (NVRs).
Although the botnet was first found by the researchers in October 2023, they think it has been operational since at least 2022. The two vulnerabilities were reported by the experts to their respective suppliers; nonetheless, the remedies are scheduled for deployment in December 2023.Upon closer examination of the current campaign, it was discovered that the bot is also targeting wireless LAN routers intended for residential and hotel use.
