LastPass Admits to Severe Data Breach, Encrypted Password Vaults Stolen

It’s possible that the LastPass security breach in August 2022 was worse than what the firm had initially stated. The well-known password management service reported on Thursday that hackers used information stolen from the prior break-in to amass a collection of its users’ private information, including their encrypted password vaults.

Basic customer account information and associated metadata, such as corporate names, end-user names, billing addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, and the IP addresses from which users were accessing the LastPass service, were also stolen, the company claimed.
