LastPass now requires 12-character master passwords for better security

In order to strengthen the security of their accounts, LastPass informed users today that they must create difficult master passwords that contain at least 12 characters. Users have been able to use a weaker master password, even though LastPass has stated on multiple occasions that it is a 12-character minimum since 2018.
“Historically, while a 12-character master password has been LastPass’ default setting since 2018, customers still had the ability to forego the recommended default settings and choose to create a master password with fewer characters, if they wished to do so,” LastPass stated in a recent announcement.
