To fix a security flaw at the kernel level that affects Server Message Block (SMB) servers, Linux has released an upgrade. The common vulnerability reporting system gave the remote code execution (RCE) hole the highest severity rating possible since it permitted unauthenticated users to run kernel-level code (CVSS).
Given that the vulnerability only affected the less-used KSMBD module instead of the more well-known Samba suite, most enterprises and enterprise customers are thought to be secure from any potential exploitation.
