Losing the Ransomware War, and the Plan to Fight Back

We seem to be losing the battle against ransomware at this point.An official from the Biden administration stated this before to the recently finished Second International Counter Ransomware Initiative Summit: “We’re witnessing the pace and sophistication of the ransomware assaults rising quicker than our resilience and disruption measures.” The fact that ransomware attacks cost U.S. financial institutions almost $1.2 billion in 2021 is evidence of this reality. According to information provided by banks to the U.S. Treasury Department, this is an almost 200% increase over the prior year.
