Artificial intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT are becoming more and more popular, which has attracted threat actors who are now using them as social engineering gimmicks to lure victims into downloading malware droppers that eventually lead to the deployment of stealers like Vidar and Redline.
We have recently noticed deceptive advertising campaigns in Google’s search engine with themes relating to AI tools. When a person searches for the term “midjourney” in Google, some fraudulent adverts are displayed.
