Malicious Plugins Found on 25,000 WordPress Websites Study

Tens of thousands of WordPress websites have malicious plugins, according to Georgia Institute of Technology researchers. Over 47,000 malicious plugins were found to be installed on almost 25,000 different WordPress websites, according to an examination of nightly backups from over 400,000 different web servers.
Over 44,000 of these plugins�or more than 94%�are still in use today. More than 3,600 of the malicious plugins that have been found were bought from reputable stores like CodeCanyon, Easy Digital Downloads, and ThemeForest. Read More…
