Massive HTTP DDoS Attack Hits Record High of 71 Million Requests/Second

Cloudflare, a provider of web infrastructure, said on Monday that it stopped a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack that peaked at over 71 million requests per second (RPS). The greatest assault, which the business described as a “hyper-volumetric” DDoS attack, exceeded 71 million requests per second (RPS), with the bulk of attacks peaking in the range of 50 to 70 million RPS. The 46 million RPS DDoS assault that Google Cloud handled in June 2022 was the previous greatest HTTP DDoS attack known to date; this attack is more than 35% larger. Attacks specifically targeted websites protected by Cloudflare’s technology, according to the company, and they were launched from a botnet made up of more than 30,000 IP addresses that belonged to “several” cloud providers.
