Cybersecurity researchers from ETH Zurich have developed ZenHammer, a new variant of the RowHammer DRAM attack, which successfully targets AMD Zen 2 and Zen 3 systems, bypassing mitigations such as Target Row Refresh (TRR). ZenHammer also triggers RowHammer bit flips on DDR5 devices, highlighting vulnerabilities in AMD CPUs despite previous defenses. AMD is assessing the impact on DDR5 devices and plans to provide updates accordingly.
