Oblivious DNS-over-HTTPS offers privacy enhancements to secure lookup protocol

An experimental approach being proposed by security experts offers increased anonymity for DNS, the internet’s version of a phone book. Oblivious DNS-over-HTTPS is the name of a technology that enables clients to use proxies to transmit encrypted DNS-over-HTTPS communications while concealing their IP addresses from DNS resolvers.

The experimental protocol has been developed outside the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) but with the involvement of engineers at Apple, Cloudflare, and Fastly. Read More…
