The cloud provider Rackspace is looking into a cybersecurity incident that required them to shut down its Hosted Exchange environment. On Friday, December 2, issues started to occur with Rackspace’s Hosted Exchange service, which makes it simpler for businesses to use Microsoft Exchange servers for email.
Early in the day, the business acknowledged the issues and informed clients that the Exchange environment had to be shut down owing to a “major failure.” Nearly 24 hours after the hiccup began, on Saturday, Rackspace disclosed that a “security incident” was to blame.
