Ransomware Recovery Could Take Months

One of the biggest libraries in the world has acknowledged that it was the target of a ransomware assault on October 28 and that it will likely take several weeks or months for it to fully recover.At the beginning of this month, the British Library issued a notice to the public regarding a “major technology outage” brought on by a “cyber incident,” although at that time, they did not elaborate.
The hack affected access to digital collections, the company’s website, and its digital catalog in addition to phone lines and on-site services at its main building in London and a different facility in Yorkshire. The library claimed in an update earlier this week that it was implementing targeted protective measures and that the incident was caused by a ransomware attack that was carried out “by a group known for such criminal activity.”
