Researchers publish post quantum upgrade to the Signal protocol

In a white paper, PQShield describes the danger that quantum assaults pose to secure end-to-end transmission and outlines how the Signal secure messaging protocol can be strengthened with post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to fend off these threats.
In order to assist the Signal Foundation, the organisation behind the free encrypted messaging app Signal, in its goal to make secure communication available to everyone, the company is offering to licence its end-to-end encrypted messaging IP to them pro bono - if/when they plan to upgrade their system.
