Leaders of the tech sector and the White House disagree over a plan for better cloud security. Despite growing opposition from executives at Amazon and other internet firms, the Biden administration is pressing forward with a plan to improve cloud infrastructure security by mandating corporations to collect personal information from customers.
The Know Your Customer (KYC) cloud security policy, according to the White House, is essential for preventing hackers from using commercial cloud services to initiate cyberattacks or as places to linger for an extended period of time in order to discover weaknesses. The National Cybersecurity Strategy (NCS), which was unveiled in March, included KYC.
