Your email is a major source of security risks and it's getting worse

Security company Trend Micro reports that the amount of malware sent to email accounts increased 196% in 2021 over the previous year and cautions that email is still a key channel for criminals wanting to send malware and phish for user credentials.
Compared to its technologies that blocked malware sent over websites, 74.1 percent of all threats that Trend Micro blocked in 2021 came via email.The firm saw large increases in known and unknown malware, which rose 134% and 221% respectively year on year. Read More…
